I just read an article that says Mr. Dave Holloway got permission from authorities in Aruba to take a search to the country. He plans on searching near a small reservoir where some witness or witnesses had said her remains might be found. This sad even happened all the way back in 2005, can a search dog get anything when that much time has passed? I know on TV them can do all sorts of things, but that is on TV.
Further into the article it also said that Natalee's mother Beth Holloway Twitty, was not aware of any new developments in the case. Now I know Natalee's parents are obviously not together anymore, but you would think in a matter like this that they would communicate 100%. Of course she might have just not wanted to talk to the press, who knows.
All I know is that I can not imagine going through something like this and I hope that no matter how long it takes, that her parents get some answers. It won't bring Natalee back, but it is the least this family deserves. The not knowing has to make a horrible situation even worse. Good luck and God bless the family and searchers.

DIRECTly Away From Cable
My niece was telling me that she was upset with her cable provider today so I asked her why. She said she never knew that when you have a cable box from her provider you not only pay the monthly rent for the box, but she also has to pay to use the DVR capabilities of the box. I never new that either, I thought the fee for the box was for everything that the box can do.
She said she started doing some comparison shopping for another television provider, and that she found a cool site where you can compare Direct TV to your current cable provider or just to see what DirecTV Offers are out there. I think I might go check it out too because I have the same provider my niece does, I don't even know how my bill breaks down. That is just bizarre that they charge you two different charges for the use of their equipment and service, they have you coming and going
I wonder if Direct Satellite TV charges for their equipment? I guess I can go to the site and find out. My niece said they have some pretty good offers going on, maybe I will see if she can get us a two for one special LOL!

Memories
I spent a few hours with a childhood friend last night. As we talked about our good times together, we remembered hours and hours of time spent at the card table. Our parents were friends and neighbors for many years, and it stands to reason that we would pick up this activity.
We talked about one incident where we decided to play poker. We had no money so we decided to play for pretzels. There were about five of us at the table and we thought we were hot stuff, playing an adult game. The laughter really started when we remembered yelling at one of the players for eating his ante. We almost rolled on the floor when we remembered the game ending because one of us spilled a glass of kool-aid all over the cards and pretzels.
I forgot how much I laugh when she is around. Like my motto says..LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE. It makes the world go around!

I Love Spring
I am sitting here thinking about the beginnings of spring. Today it is warming up and you can actually go outside without a jacket. That is an exciting thing to me . I hate wearing a heavy coat.It makes me so uncomfortable to be bundled up. Connecting the seat belt is even more annoying. Just turning to look behind you is a hassle.
Anyway it reminds me of each and every spring in my past. Every year I dream of the nicer weather. Not summer, but nice, warm,gentle breeze, birds singing and little plants peeking through the ground. I begin to think of all the outside areas that need attention. Leaves that never were raked and disposed of. Flower beds that are full of weeds and twigs. A driveway that has stains from the uncollected leaves. Damaged siding that needs repair. I continue to make an extended list of all I will get done with the warm days of spring arriving .
Truth be known, in all my memories of the arrival of spring I can not remember one time when I really got out and did that long list of things that need done. When spring comes I am content to sit on the porch and watch the birds peck the ground and the squirrels chase each other from tree to tree. A hot cup of coffee in the morning, a cold Pepsi in the afternoon and a few hours of daydreaming. THAT IS SPRING TO ME, I LOVE IT, BUT SPRING FEVER GETS ME EVERY YEAR.

Illness and the family
Illness in the family can be so unexpected. We don't usually start our day thinking about" what ifs". A phone call can change everything in an instant. What we had planned for the day is suddenly changed and seems unimportant.
This situation just came up for me. I did not have a close member of my family get sick, but two close members of my childrens lives were effected. I needed to rearrange my schedule and do the run to the airport, set up a guest room and be there to help with my grandchildren so that my children were not worried about these things and could concentrate on the people who needed them.
Both of the illnesses are going to be ongoing, but things have calmed down . As I look back, I realize how quickly things can change, and how we can be effected by lifes roller coaster. I'm hoping for some gentle curves and no downhill plunges.

I just had a friend recommend to me that I check out online poker. He plays it for fun and says it is very entertaining.
